Public accepts Thornton area cell tower

There has been no complaints to Essa council about the shifting of a Bell cellular tower from Thornton to a rural property south on County Road 27.

Essa council reviewed the latest update from Bell Mobility at last week's council meeting and received the report that the tower would be placed at 6831 County Road 27, approximately a half kilometre east of the highway.

"I haven't heard any complaints," said Thornton area councillor Rick Newlove "Everybody I talk to is happy that it has been moved away from the built up area of Thornton," he said.

With the consent of both Innisfil and Essa councils, construction of the tower could begin this August 1.
