Beating the 'summer blahs'...what does that mean? I've heard of winter blahs because I get those all the time...I'm not a lover of cold or winter as anyone who knows me can attest to. But the summer blahs??? why would anyone feel like that in the summer? So I went on a hunt for solutions to the summer blahs and was surprised to find that most people think that beating such 'blahs' means better television programming! Now I ask you! Have you ever related TV programming with such feelings? Not me. Then I learned that the summer break from school produces the 'blahs', but it just can't be the kids who feel this way...this has to be the parents...isn't it? I don't know. There is so much to do in the summer that I can't imagine not loving every minute of it. If you do nothing more than sit outside and read a best seller, or weed your garden or take a walk with your pet or invite a neighbour over for a cool glass of lemonade, who, then, could ever have the blahs? How have you been avoiding those summer 'blahs'...I'd be interested to know.

Newfoundland Dinner /Dance: Mark your calendars for October 20th, when there will be a Newfie Dinner/Dance at the Lefroy Arena. Emmie has been working hard on the preparations and has told me that all tickets will be $15. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m. There is to be family entertainment, lots of fun for all ages and prizes to win.
