Dangerous Driving / Breach Recognizance

On 10 July a 35 year old Oshawa male turned himself in to South Simcoe Police on an outstanding warrant. The Accused is alleged to have followed his ex-wife while they were both driving southbound on Highway 400 from Barrie. He made abrupt movements to catch up to her vehicle and drove up beside her made eye contact with her before cutting in front of her as she drove. Vehicles were affected by his driving actions. The Accused was held for a bail hearing on 11 July 2007 in Barrie.

Assault / Threatening / Assault with a weapon

On 11 July South Simcoe Police were called to a residence in Alcona where two roommates became invovled in an argument. As a result of this argument, a 37 year old Alcona male struck his female roommate, sprayed a flammable liquid on her and threatened her. The male was arrested and held for a bail hearing on 11 July 2007 in Barrie.

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Breach of Probation

South Simcoe Police have charged a 49 year old Innisfil female and a 36 year old Innisfil male with Possession of a Controlled Substance after police made a traffic stop on Concession Rd 7 in the Town of Innisfil on July 12th, 2007. A small quantity of non prescription and prescription drugs were observed in the vehicle. Through investigation it was found that the female was on probation from an earlier release and she was not to be in possession of the prescription drugs in her possession. The female has also been charged with Breach of Probation, and she is being held pending a bail hearing later this date. The male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date in Bradford court on August 30, 2007.

Assault with a Weapon/Uttering Threats

On Saturday July 14, at approximately 2:00am. South Simcoe Police attended the area of Brownlee Drive in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury regarding a noisy party and youths drinking underage. While in the area police were informed about a male with a knife threatening another male. Police located the suspect who was arrested without incident. Police have charged a 16 year old Toronto male with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.

Theft of a Seadoo

South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of a seadoo from a residence on Degrassi Cove Place in the Town of Innisfil. The seadoo was taken from a dock sometime between 10:00p.m. on July 12, 2007 and 8:00a.m. on July 13, 2007. The seadoo is described as a 1998 Seadoo SPX. The investigation is continuing.

Thefts from Vehicles - Belle Ewart area

South Simcoe Police investigated several entries to vehicles in the Belle Ewart area that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday July 14, 2007. Small change and other personal belongings were taken from the vehicles. Owners of vehicles are reminded they should lock their vehicles when parked in driveways overnight and ensure all valuable belongings have been removed. Mischief to Property

On Monday July 16, at approximately 10:30 p.m. police were called to a Bradford residence for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that 38 year old male, who was intoxicated, had gotten into an argument with his common law spouse and proceeded to smash several windows and pictures in the residence and had also overturned some furniture. The male was arrested for Mischief to Property and held until sober. He was released in the morning on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking and will appear in court in August to answer to the charge.

Possession of Controlled Substance/ Breach of Undertaking

On Tuesday July 16, at approximately 11:50 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on Toronto Street in Bradford for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed the male was on release conditions related to a previous charge with a condition not to consume alcohol or drugs. The male had been drinking and was in possession of marihuana. He was arrested and transported to the station where a search of his person turned up a quantity of suspected crack cocaine. A 17 year old Bradford male was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Undertaking and held for a bail hearing.
