Mischief - Essa man charged

On July 16th, members of the Nottawasaga OPP attended the Tim Hortons in Alliston regarding a mischief complaint. Through their investigation it was learned that a 20 year old Essa man had entered the washroom of the business and damaged the baby changing table and paper dispenser. Charged with mischief under $5000, 20 year old Alex Aristidou of Essa has a future court date in Bradford.

Robbery - Two 16 year old males charged

On july 14th, shortly after 10:15 pm, members of the Nottawasaga OPP were called to an address on King St. in Alliston regarding a robbery. Investigation revealed that two 16 year old males approached the victim, a 16 year old male, while walking on King St.

The suspect males took the victims backpack and other personal items. The victim was then punched in the head and told not to call police. Officers located the two suspects a short time later in a nearby park.

Both were arrested for robbery, and will appear in court at a later date.

Serious motor vehicle collision - driver charged

On Sunday, July 15th, members of the OPP, Duffrein detachment as well as the Nottawasaga detachment commenced an investigation involving complaints of a motor vehicle being driven on the roadway in an erratic manner in the Mono, Clearview Townships area.

A short time later an officer from the Dufferin OPP observed a vehicle being operated on Hwy 89 in a proper manner. The driver not wearing a seatbelt was stopped.

The driver indicated that he had just woken up and was tired. The driver continued on his way and was followed for a short distance by police, who were satisfied the manner of driving was fine.

Approximately a half an hour later, Nottawasaga OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle rollover collision on Hwy 89. Upon their arrival they found a male, the passenger of the vehicle lying on the ground, having been ejected from the vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the driver, while east on Hwy 89, lost control, left the roadway, struck a fence and rolled over, ejecting his passenger.

The passenger was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

Charged at the scene with dangerous driving causing bodily harm was Mario Petrini, 27, of Hamilton.
