Stampeders take over New York State

We recently travelled to New York State and captured the NPSL(Niagara Pioneer Soccer League) Invitational title winning all 4 games defeating Lancaster NY in the final. The team is as follows: back row, left to right, Lori Howcroft - Manager, Breanne Torrance, Carisa Courvoisier, Shanna Corbeil, Brittany Howcroft, Daniella Ventimiglia, Nina Koniuch - Trainer, 2nd row left to right, Carleen Cade - Coach, Chelsea Wright, Emily Simmons, Paige Driscoll, Taylor Davis, Kyla Kellermann, Enzo Ventimiglia - Asst. Coach, bottom row left to right, Danielle Morandini, Marlee Koniuch, Ariana Bof , Elsa Johnston and Jenn Poppe is the Keeper. Missing from photo are Alannah Walls and Cheyenne Jamieson.

Coaches Carleen Cade and Enzo Ventimiglia started building this team approximately 4 yrs ago. They have quickly moved up in the Terra rankings, the Terra rankings (http://webhome. idirect.com/~lterra/oysr/) is a system used to rank all amateur Rep soccer teams in the province of Ontario. Four years ago, the Innisfil Stampeders were not in the top 150, the official rankings were released last wk and they are now ranked 15th in the province.

What is truly incredible, is the fact that they are one of the highest ranked teams boys or girls in this region, only the Barrie U17 and 18 girls are ranked higher. The team also has a provincial team member in Kyla Kellermann, she is one of only 20 in the province to make this elite team.

The team is undefeated in league play and is looking forward to League Cup, League games and tournaments later in the season. Please refer to cgsl.ca for upcoming schedules and stats. The team is also making arrangements to attend the Schwan's Cup in Minnesota July 2008, this is the largest amateur tournament in the world and is also a showcase tournament for U.S. scholarships.

Other showcase tournaments will be considered the following year. In order to be this successful, year round training, specialized instruction and intense conditioning is required, the cost is extremely high hence the importance of fund raising and sponsorship. We have been fortunate enough to receive sponsorship from such organizations as Richardson Foster Ltd, Strudwick Construction, Mind To Muscle, Fisher's Regalia, The Mortgage Station, Tupling Insurance, Smith, Sykes & Leeper Management, Previn Court Homes, Enviroking, Innisfil Petro Canada and more.

To the best of our knowledge this is the most successful team of any kind, ever to come out of Innisfil.
