Bus driver charged in Cookstown accident

On Wednesday, May 30th, just before 4:00 p.m. 8 year old Owen Robinson of Cookstown was struck by a northbound passenger van on Simcoe County Road # 27 just north of Cookstown Central Public School. The boy had exited from a stopped school bus located on the East shoulder of the roadway.

As a result of this investigation the South Simcoe Police Service have charged a 51 year old Thornton woman with Failing to Activate Bus Signals as per section 175(6) of the Highway Traffic Act. She is summoned to appear in Bradford Court on Monday, September 17.
