South Simcoe Police Breach of Recognizance On Tuesday July 17, at approximately 1:20 a.m. police received a call to attend a Bradford West Gwillimbury rooming house concerning a male that may have been in violation of his bail conditions. Officers located the accused on Holland Street West and determined that he was in breach of his court ordered curfew of 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily. The 23 year old Bradford resident was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance and held for a bail hearing the same day. Fire On Tuesday July 17, at approximately 4:40 p.m. the Innisfil Fire Department and the South Simcoe Police Service were called to a fire on the 5th Concession of Innisfil. Upon arrival they discovered an old abandoned farm house to be fully engulfed by fire. The fire was extinguished, but the structure could not be saved. The cause has not been determined and remains under investigation. Fire On Tuesday July 17, at approximately 4:35 a.m. the Innisfil Fire Department and the South Simcoe Police were called to a structure fire on Swan Street in the Town of Innisfil. Upon arrival they located the fire in a home in a new residential development that was under construction and was only partially completed.. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the structure could not be saved. The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal and the South Simcoe Police Service. Robbery On July 19, three unknown males entered the basement apartment of a residence in Bradford and confronted the 19 year old male tenant and his 19 year old male friend. A scuffle ensued between the culprits and the tenant and one of the culprits presented a hatchet and chased the victim from the apartment. Police were called and the culprits fled the area. As a result of this altercation property was removed from the residence by the culprits. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers. Attempt Robbery On 19 July a 18 year old Newmarket male reported that he was driving on Simcoe Road in Bradford when he was confronted by two males who exited a vehicle which had stopped in front of him. Both males were carrying weapons and demanded that the victim turn over his car to them. The victim sped away at which point one of the culprits hit his vehicle with a hatchet as it passed. The culprits fled the scene in a dark coloured car. The victim attended at the South Simcoe Police station. Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers. MVC/Stolen Vehicle On Saturday, July 21st, at approx. 0045 hrs the South Simcoe police were contacted by a citizen advising he observed a vehicle in a ditch on the 5th Sideroad at the 5th concession road in the Town of Innisfil. Upon police arrival it was learned that the R/O or driver were no where to be found. The police contacted the R/O only to find out that he had passed out at a friends house and he left his vehicle in the driveway. He advised that the keys were left in the middle console of the vehicle. The R/O advised that he didn't give permission for anyone to be driving his vehicle. At this point in the investigation it appears that the vehicle may have been stolen from the friends driveway. The vehicle is a 2003 Chev Trail Blazer LS with 84,000 Km. The stolen vehicle struck a hydro pole and has severe damage to the body. Anyone with information about this MVC are asked to contact the South Simcoe Police Service or your local Crime Stoppers. Break and Enter Business South Simcoe Police are investigating a Break-In to a Holland Street West, Bradford fast food business during the early morning hours of July 22, 2007. Suspect(s) had attempted to gain access to an adjoining business but were unsuccessful. Access to the fast food store was gained by removing a pane of glass from the front door. A small amount of cash was stolen as a result of the Break-in. Anyone with information regarding this occurrence is asked to call South Simcoe Police at 905- 775-3311, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip at www.1800222tips.com. Personal Watercraft Collision on Lake Simcoe South Simcoe Police are investigating a collision between 2 personal watercraft (PWC) which occurred at approximately 3:30 PM Sunday July 22, in Lake Simcoe near Innisfil Concession Road 6. Both PWC's were being operated by 16 year old males who were friends with each other. Each PWC had 16 year old female passengers. One PWC was followed closely by the second PWC when the lead PWC stopped suddenly and was struck by the following PWC. All occupants were thrown into the water. The operator of the lead PWC was transported by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie with non-life threatening chest injuries. Collision is still under investigation by the South Simcoe Police Marine Unit |
