Innisfil Cardinals game report Sportsmanship was the name of the game on the night of July 4th as T-Ball #1 and T-Ball #2 met again. Reid Petite, Zachary Denis and Layton showed great sportsmanship by helping out the short handed T-Ball #2 team. The gloves of Kyle Broudreau and Kira Nursoo were on fire. Both made great stops in the infield to keep the runners on base. The awesome hitting from Kurtis Jackson kept the game close as t-Ball #1 came out on top 16-14. Kyle amd Kurtis each received a ball as the game MVP's. The whole T-Ball #2 team played well thanks to some borrowed players from the other team. Bridget Gowan showed what she can do at bat by hitting the ball hard and getting on first base. A great game was played by both Cardinal T-Ball teams. The Cardinal Tyke team hit the field on July 8th as they played home against Beaver Valley #1. The whole team played a fantastic game keeping their errors to a minimum and hitting like pros which earned them the win with a score of 24 to 14. The MVP's of the game were Nick Stacey and Eric Lamb who both threw a lot of pitches to help seal the victory. On July 9th the Cardinals were the home team again as the beat Angus #2, 17 to 8. Derek VanBolhuis made one of his spectacular catches at second base, stopping an Angus rally. The Cardinals bats were hot as Chad Kitchener and Brody MacDonald both hit home runs to secure a solid victory. The Sr. Rookie Cardinals took to the field on the July 9th to play Collingwood where they came away with the win 15 to 6. Devon Parazader's bat was hot as he hit a home run and brought 2 runners to the plate. Jared Miszturak had an awesome night in the infield as he got all three of the outs in the first inning, two of them with a double play. Tristan Marco had a good night at bat and in the field as he hit a double and also got a runner out at second base. The Sr. Rookie Cardinals had a tournament in Wasaga Beach on July 7 and 8th. The first was a close game against Stayner with the score going back and forth with 1 run difference. Stayner came out on top in the game 11 to 10. Jacob Dwyer was great in the pitchers position as he got the first out of the game by firing the ball to first base. The Cardinal bats were fantastic with Marcus Pronay getting a double with 2RBI's and Devon Parazader hitting another triple. With a loss in the first game the Cardinals played Wasaga Beach #1 where the beat them with a whopping score of 16 to 0. Jared Miszturak and Gary Stewart both got doubles in the first inning to bring home the runs. Nicholas Krupa kept the runs coming in the second inning with a double that earned him 2 RBI's. Jacob Dwyer and Jacob Kolchetski teamed up for the final out of the second inning with a throw from pitcher to first base. After winning against Wasaga Beach #1 the Cardinals played Wasaga Beach #2 where it was a close game that ended with Innisfil coming out on top 18 to 17. Austin Coffin's bat came alive in the first inning with a triple and two RBI's. Marcus Pronay and Makaila Hunter also hit well with triples in the 3rd inning. An awesome throw by Nicholas Krupa from third base to first got the final out of the 4th inning. Gary Stewart hit a home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to keep the game close. With two wins and one loss on Saturday the Cardinals were playing again on Sunday in the consolation round against New Lowell. The Cardinals thought they won the game in the top of the fifth inning but New Lowell appealed a run which left the teams tied and the Cardinals had to come back to the plate. It was a nail biter of a game that went seven innings with New Lowell taking the game 10 - 5. Gary Stewart and Jared Miszturak both hit triples in the third inning. Makalila Hunter and Tristan Marco hit doubles in the fourth to keep the game tied. Steven Kolchetski's glove was working well in the outfield as he fired one to second base for the out. It was an emotional loss for the Cardinals that ended their tournament weekend. |
