Aluminum boat stolen

Essa Twp. Nottawasaga OPP are investigating the theft of a boat from the 30th Sideroad of Essa between July 20th and 29th.

A 13 foot aluminum boat, with a noticeable dent on the port side, was removed from the driveway of the residence.

Domestic assault - Barrie man arrested

Alliston - On Tuesday, July 31, OPP were called to Alliston to investigate an incident of assault. Investigation revealed that the now accused man, unable to accept a dissolved relationship with his former partner, 25, has been over the past seven months harassing the female.

July 31, the male approached the victim on the street in Angus assaulting her by grabbing her by the face. The woman fled the scene in a vehicle only to be followed by the accused. The accused followed driving in an overbearing, aggressive and dangerous manner, following the victim into Alliston, a distance of 40 km. Arrested and charged with assault, criminal harassment and dangerous driving, is Nyrton Pierre- Antoine, 37 of Barrie. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Barrie on August 1.

High milers

Essa Twp. - August 1st, at 11:09 p.m., an officer from the Nottawasaga OPP stopped a high miler on County Rd. 10 near 5 Sideroad. The driver was operating a Mercedes northbound on Cty. Rd. 10 at 129 kph in an 80 kph zone.

Upon conviction, Jason Klausen of Orangeville, 27, could face a hefty fine and accumulation of demerit points.

His explanation was "I own a catering business and I'm late for a client. It's an open road and I figured I could make up some time."

The same morning at 11:41, an Officer stopped another high miler on County Rd. 10 northbound near 5 Sideroad. He was also doing 129 kph.

The driver explained: "I'm on my way to a job in Collingwood and I didn't realize how fast I was going." Upon conviction Christopher Morgis, 41 of King, could also face a hefty fine and demerit points.

Damage to vehicle - window broken

Essa Twp. - Nottawasaga OPP are investigating an incident of mischief in Angus to a motor vehicle.

Between midnight July 28 and 8:30 a.m. the following day, person(s) unknown smashed a front windshield of a parked vehicle on Lucy Lane. The owner discovered the damage in the morning.
