2nd Annual Mayor's Cruisin' for CNIB Innisfil Mayor Brian Jackson, Councillor Paul Wardlaw and other motorcycle enthusiasts will be touring Simcoe County on Sunday, August 19th in support of CNIB services in Simcoe/Muskoka. Participants with the Mayor's Cruisin' for CNIB, now in its second year, will leave the Stroud Arena in Innisfil at 10:00 a.m., with registration starting at 9:00 a.m. They will stop for lunch (generously provided by the Georgian Bay area Lions Clubs) in Midland at the North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre. From there, the group will return to Alcona in Innisfil for a wrap up at Wild Wing, an area restaurant supporting the event. "I'm hoping for at least 60 riders to participate this year," said Suzanne Gaudet, Associate, Community Development for CNIB in the area. "That would triple the number of riders who brought in pledges last year." The Mayor's Cruisin' for CNIB is a pledge event, where participants are asked to collect a minimum of $50 in pledges. Their generous support will make the event a huge success. It is also thanks to the support of the event sponsors - Rogers Television, KICX FM, Napoleon Fireplaces and Grills, iStar Studio, Wild Wing, the Lions Clubs in the Georgian Bay area - and numerous area businesses, that the Mayor's Cruisin' for CNIB will surpass last year's success. CNIB is a nation-wide, community-based, registered charity committed to public education, research and the vision health of all Canadians. CNIB provides the services and support necessary to enjoy a good quality of life while living with vision loss. For more information about the Mayor's Cruisin' for CNIB, for pledge sheets and to pre-register, contact CNIB at 705 728-3352, ext. 5275. |
