Possession of Marihuana, resist arrest, obstruct police, threaten death

On the 7th of August , at 11:08 PM a uniformed officer was flagged down on Holland St W in Bradford regarding a 40 year old intoxicated male causing a disturbance. The male was arrested, searched and a bag of Marihuana was located. He was transported to the police station were he gave investigating officers the wrong name. Charged with Possession of Marihuana, threaten death , obstruct police, resist arrest and intoxicated in a public place is a 40 year old Bradford male.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing Wednesday, August 8th, at the Barrie court house. The accused is also wanted for Breach of probation X 3 by Durham Regional Police Service.

Fail to appear.

On the 9th of August at approximately 2:00 am O.P.P officers conducting a R.I.D.E spot check in Toronto arrested a 39 year old Bradford woman wanted by the South Simcoe Police Service for failing to appear for finger prints and photographs.

The accused was originaly charged with domestic assault and released on her own recognizance in February 2006. The accused will face the added charge of failing to appear in Barrie court Thursday August 9th.

Charged with Possession of Marihuana, threaten death , obstruct police, resist arrest and intoxicated in a public place is a 40 year old Bradford male. The accused will be held in custody pending a bail hearing Wednesday, August 8th, at the Barrie court house. The accused is also wanted for Breach of probation X 3 by Durham Regional Police Service.

Break and Enter

On Thursday August 9, at approximately 11:25 p.m. police received a call of an alarm at a Bradford West Gwillimbury secondary school. Officers arrived on scene and located an insecure door to the building. Officers entered the school and located a three males hiding in the library.

The youths, one age 15 and two age 16, were arrested for Break and Enter and transported to the station where they were charged accordingly and released to family members. They will appear in Youth Court in September to answer to the charges.

Assault

On Thursday August 9, at approximately 9:30 p.m a female attended the South Simcoe Police station in Bradford to report and assault. She disclosed to officers a series of nine assaults by her husband dating back to early July 2007.

As a result of an investigation police have arrested charged a 35 year old Bradford male with four counts of Assault and five counts of Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing on August 10th in Barrie.

Assault

On Thursday August 9, at approximately 6:55 p.m. police were called to an Innisfil residence for a domestic dispute. Officers attended and learned that a male and female had become involved in a heated argument that had turned violent.

At some point the male and female began struggling with eachother and the male punched the female in the face. Officers observed an obvious injury to the female's face. As a result, a 42 year old Innisfil male was arrested and charged with Assault. He was held for a bail hearing on August 10th in Barrie.

Impaired Driving

On August 9, at approximately 9:30 p.m. police were called to a motor vehicle accident on Professor Day Drive in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Officers attended and observed that a Volkswagen Golf had struck a utility pole.

The driver of the vehicle was located and found to be impaired from the consumption of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to the station in Bradford where he blew over the legal limit.

A 17 year old male from Bradford was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs. He was released from custody and will appear in Youth Court in September to answer to the charge. In addition to the charges he received a mandatory 90 day licence suspension.

Possession of Marihuana

On August 10, at approximately 4:40 p.m. police observed a drug transaction take place between several youths behind a Bradford West Gwillimbury plaza. Officers approached the youths and observed one of them pull out a bag of marihuana from his pocket.

The officers closed in and arrested two of the youths. A small bag of marihuana was seized. The youths, a female aged sixteen, and a fifteen year old male, both from Bradford, were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were later released from custody to their parents.

Aggravated Assault

On 28 July South Simcoe Police were called in regards to an assault which had taken place outside the Village Inn in Bradford. Upon arrival it was learned that a 23 year old Bradford resident had been punched in the face causing him to fall heavily to the ground, striking his head. Ambulance attended on scene and transported the victim to hospital. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the assault.

The suspect was observed by staff at the Village Inn and the following information was provided:

- approx. 5 feet 6 inches tall

- 130-140 lbs

- black spiked hair

- wearing a black golf shirt, blue jeans and white running shoes.
