WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22ND The 1st Alcona Scouts will be having their 2007-2008 registration night from 7 - 9 pm at the ABC Hall. Join as a Beaver (5-7 years), Wolf Cub (8-10), Scouts (11-14), Venturers (14-17), Rovers (18-26) and Activity Leader (14-15). SATURDAY, AUGUST 25TH Churchill United Church will be having their annual BBQ and corn roast dinner along with a rummage sale from 5 - 7:30 pm. The cost is $8 per person. Everyone is welcome.

A giant flea market will be held at The Spoke at Sandycove Acres from 8am until 2pm. SUNDAY, AUGUST 26TH The 1st Annual Am Shalom Synagogue Bazaar, Silent Auction, Bake Sale and BBQ from 9am until 4pm. If you have items to donate, call Jean at (705) 739-9834. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Gilda's Club. TUESDAY, AUGIST 28TH The Bond Head Olde Tyme Fiddle Club will be holding their monthly fiddle dance and jam session. All musicians , dancers and listeners are welcome. The fun starts at 7pm, admission is $4 and the session takes place at the Bond Head Community Hall. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH The Cookstown Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual golf tournament at Harbourview Golf Course. Lunch and registration starts at 11:30am with a shot gun start at 12:30 pm. The day costs $120 and includes green fees, power carts, prizes, lunch and a chicken and rib dinner. Please call Lynn Dollin (705) 627-9023. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH St. John's Anglican Church in Cookstown will hold its Annual BBQ Salmon Dinner from 4:30 until 7pm. Tickets are $12. For information, call (705) 458-9667. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH The Annual Lefroy United Church Golf Tournament will be held at Inniscreek Golf Club (400 & 89, beside KOA). The cost is $85 which includes golf, cart and steak dinner. There will be lots of prizes. For those of you who do not golf, come out just for dinner for $30.If you can donate a prize or sponsor a hole, call Ray Janse (705) 456-0270 or Cheryl LeLiever (705) 456-3139. The Fall Flower and Vegetable Show will be held at the Grange Hall in Lefroy. Entries are from 10 - 11:15 am, judging from 11:30 am until 1pm, and the event is open to the public from 1 - 3 pm. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH Lefroy United Church is inviting everyone to the first day of Sunday School with events for kids of all ages. Horse back ride, crafts, fun with a parachute, woodworking and more will make this a great event. Weather permitting it will be held in the park - if not find us at the Grange Hall. Start time is 10 am and it should be finished by noon. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH Paws for a Cause will be taking place at Pet Country Estate from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm. There will be demonstrations, displays and more. Proceeds for the day will be donated to the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. For info call (705) 431-1010 or go to www.petcountryestate.com. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH The Gilford and District Horticultural Society will be holding their Fall Auction Night at their next General Meeting, beginning at 7:30 pm. SEPTEMBER 14, 15, 16 The Simcoe County Quilt Rug and Craft Fair will be held at the Simcoe County Museum. Admission is $4 per person; under 12 is free. Monday, September 17 Thornton Skating Club is holding their first registration night at the Thornton Arena from 7 to 9 p.m. Register your kids for Canskate, Junior, Intermediate and Power Skate. New this year is Cardio Skate for adults. For more information call Charlene at 739 9226. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th A day trip to St. Jacob's. You'll enjoy the lovely scenery and the Mennonite country from the comfort of a coash bus. We will browse and shop in St. Jacob's and then the Farmer's Market. We will be having dinner at Anna Mae's Mennonite Restaurant where you will enjoy dinner, dessert, taxes and gratuites (for $12) and then we'll head home. We may stop in the Town of Fergus. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27TH The Friends of the Innisfil Public Library will be holding their 4th Annual Crafters Sale at the Stroud Community Complex. Venders are needed. Table rentals are available by calling (705) 436-2185. All proceeds go towards library programs.
