Essa mailbox bashing solved

Essa Twp. - Members of the Nottawasaga Opp have investigating numerous incidents of mail box bashing in the Essa Twp. area during the month of August.

Numerous mailboxes were trashed during the dark time hours. It was determined that the youths responsible would stop their vehicle, punch-kick and down the mail boxes and then throw them into the ditch.

With the assistance of the public, two youths have been identified and dealt with accordingly.

Charged with four counts of mischief under $5,000 is a 17-year-old male from Adjala. He was released into the custody of his parents pending a future court appearance.

Also charged is a 16- year-old male from Essa with four counts of mischief. This youth was released into the custody of his parents having been diverted to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
