Sponsor a tree, volunteer for the GDHS

For the cost of $300, you can purchase the naming rights of a tree at the Arboretum, located at the corner of the 20th Sideroad and Shore Acres Drive.

The tree of your choice will also have a plaque, with the name chosen for sponsorship. The plaque is part of the sponsorship price. Money raised will go to projects the Gilford and District Horticultural Society works on.

Sharon Wice said not only is the GDHS looking for sponsors, but for volunteers as well. "All you have to do is come down for an hour or so," she explains.

With just over 140 members, the GDHS is always looking for more to join the group, and join the fun. If you are interested in sponsoring a tree or becoming a member, call Sharon Wice at (705) 456-3316.
