$6000 in funding available to the community Local Credit Union calls for applicants Innisfil, ON - Every year, Peoples Credit Union donates a portion of after tax profits to further community projects through their Community Involvement Award. This year the awarded amount will be $6,000. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2007. Organizations wishing to apply for the 2007 Community Involvement Award should meet the application guidelines and be serving the communities Peoples Credit Union serves. Beneficiaries of the award may include (but are not limited to): community groups funding special events, educational/awareness programs, school fundraising activities, equipment for local health facilities, or health related programs with a community focus. In Simcoe and Dufferin counties, especially in the communities served by their branches, Peoples Credit Union continues to provide financial support based on their credo of "People Helping People". The organizations that have benefited from the Community Involvement Award are well known community organizations. The 2006 award beneficiaries included: Stephenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, which received $2,000 towards a Medical Unit Dialysis Treatment chair; Innisfil Recreational Centre, which received $1,200 for sponsorship of 4 arena seats; SPCA Orangeville and District Branch, which received $1,000 towards new rabbit cages and equipment; and Honeywood Minor Hockey, which received $1,500 to help purchase much needed goalie equipment. Organizations must submit their application by August 31, 2007 to: Peoples Credit Union Head Office, Community Involvement Award Committee 8034 Yonge Street, Innisfil ON L9S 1L6. Applications may also be faxed to 705-431- 5610. The recipient, or recipients, of the award(s) will be announced publicly on October 18, 2007, during Credit Union Day festivities. |
