County paramedics offer free CPR course in September County of Simcoe Paramedic Services will offer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for the residents of Simcoe County including the cities of Barrie and Orillia on Saturday, Sept. 15. There is no cost to the participants. There is one session with the location at Barnfield Point Recreation Centre, 500 Atherley Road, Orillia from 8:30 to 10 a.m. To register to go www.county.simcoe.on.ca/cpr/index.cfm or contact the County of Simcoe Customer Service at: 705-735-6901 or 1-800-263-3199 There is no cost but please bring a non-perishable food item for the local Food Bank. Participants will be instructed by County of Simcoe Paramedic Services in the "Family and Friends" Heart & Stroke Foundation course and will include basic anatomy of the lungs and heart, signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke, adult and child CPR, adult and child choking emergencies and information on automated external defibrillation. County of Simcoe Paramedics have to-date, trained and certified over 2,000 Simcoe County residents in CPR. Training will be conducted by County paramedics volunteering their time.
