South Simcoe Police Possession of a Controlled Substance On Wednesday August 29, 2007 at approximately 9:45p.m. South Simcoe Police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Industrial Road in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. When police approached the vehicle they observed a quantity of marihuana and related paraphernalia within the vehicle. Police have charged two 17 year old Bradford males and a 16 year old Bradford male with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The three youths have a court date scheduled for October 9, 2007 in Barrie Youth Court. Assault South Simcoe Police have charged a 39 year old Bradford male with Assault after police received information from the male's ex-wife that she had been assaulted by the male. It appears that the two parties encountered each other near the Bradford Courthouse on Holland St East, and after a short argument between the two parties, the accused grabbed the victim by the arm and pushed her out of the way. The male is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 30, 2007. The accused is also wanted by the Toronto Police Service who hold a warrant for the male for failing to attend court on a previous drug related charge. Personal Injury Collision On Wednesday, August 29th, at approx 11:00 p.m. police, fire and ambulance attended a collision on Maple Road in the Town of Innisfil involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist. South Simcoe Police report that the motor vehicle being operated by a 28 year old male from Scarborough was southbound in the northbound lanes when he struck a 14 year old female cyclist from Innisfil who was travelling northbound in the northbound lane. The female was transported to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and was later released. The operator of the motor vehicle was charged with Fail to Drive in Marked Lane under the Highway Traffic Act and the cyclist was charged with Fail to Wear a Helmet on a Bicycle and Improper Lighting on a Bicycle under the Highway Traffic Act. Fail to Attend Court - Bench Warrant Executed South Simcoe Police arrested an 18 year old Innisfil female for Failing to Appear in Bradford Court on Thursday August 30, 2007. The female realized she had missed her fingerprint and court dates, and she turned herself in to police when she learned that a bench warrant had been issued by the court. The female is being held in custody pending a bail hearing later this date. Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident On Thursday August 30, 2007 at 10:50p.m. South Simcoe Police responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Innisfil Beach Road west of 5 Sideroad in the Town of Innisfil. A Pontiac Montana van was travelling westbound on Innisfil Beach Road when the driver observed another motor vehicle in the centre of the road turning around without it's headlights on. The driver went onto the gravel shoulder and lost control of the vehicle. The 45 year old female driver suffered non life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for observation. Police have no description of the other involved vehicle, and no charges have been laid at this time. Breach of conditions X 2 On Saturday September 1st, at 10 :30 AM a 43 year old Bradford man attended the south division of the South Simcoe Police Service to sign in as per his release conditions of a previous criminal charge. The accused was 24 hours late ( Breach # 1) signing in and had consumed an alcoholic beverage ( Breach # 2) prior to attending the police station. The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing Sunday September 2nd 2007. Impaired driving,refuse breath test and weapons dangerous. On Saturday September 1st 2007, at 6:30 PM the South Simcoe Police Service received a 911 call from an off duty O.P.P officer advising a possible impaired driver was south bound on highway 27 in the Town of Innisfil. The suspect female driver was involved in 3 separate motor vehicle collisions prior to being stopped in a parking lot at Hwy 89 and 400. The driver a 28 year old female from Newton- Robinson was found to be intoxicated. The suspect was arrested and an edged weapon removed from her possession. The accused was transport to the station were she refused to provide a breath sample. The accused was charged with impaired driving, refuse to provide a breath sample and weapons dangerous. The accused was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking entered into before an officer in charge. Impaired driving and refuse breath test. On Saturday September 1st, at 9:50 PM a South Simcoe Police officer observed a motor vehicle driving in an erratic manner and attempted to stop the suspect motor vehicle. The vehicle fled a short distance with the driver attempting to make it in the door of his Alcona residence prior to police catching up. The accused was apprehended in his driveway and found to be intoxicated.Arrested for impaired driving is a 57 year old Alcona man. The accused was transported to the police station were he refused to provide a breath sample. The accused was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. The accused was released on a promise to appear. Armed Robbery with a handgun. On Sunday September 2nd 2007, at 3:30 AM 3 males entered the Pioneer gas station in the Town of Bradford and committed an armed robbery leaving with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarette's. The description of the suspects are as follows. Suspect #1***believed to have a hand gun*** Male, tan complexion with full beard running from sideburns to chin, no moustache. Wearing a dark or black baseball cap with New York Yankees symbol, blue sweater type jacket with white lettering on left breast, and 3 lines of white wording across the back, 2 lines of piping from shoulders to cuff. Smaller, or low profiles back pack with large ADIDAS symbol and written on it. Black or dark green jeans, possibly white running shoes. Suspect # 2: Male, wearing black hoody, with hood up, white handkerchief pulled half way up his face, tan or khaki pants and black running shoes with white on bottom of heels. Suspect # 3: Male, wearing a black hoody, white handkerchief over nose and half of face, light blue jeans, large bulge on right side, black running shoes with a loose velcro strap. Any person with information please call the South Simcoe Police Service or Crime Stoppers. Mischief/ Breach of Probation On September 3, 2007 the South Simcoe Police responded to a domestic dispute on Hwy #400 north of County Rd #88 in Bradford West Gwillimbury. Police received a call from a female that she had been assaulted by her father while they were driving on the highway. During the argument the male had smashed his wife's cell phone when his daughter tried to use it to call police. The male had then parked his vehicle on Hwy #88 and took off on foot through a corn field. He was located and arrested. Also present in his vehicle was his wife. Investigation revealed that the accused was also on probation not to associate or communicate with her. The male was charged with Mischief and Breach of Probation and held for a bail hearing. |
