This Saturday, Lakeview Gardens will be holding their Annual Giant Onion growing competition. The weigh in starts at 2pm.

Those coming to watch the competition can drop by and take advantage of the massive sale going on at Lakeview. People can also tour their gardens as well.

Residents who bought their Kelsae Sweet Giant Onions from Lakeview in the spring will have an opportunity to compete against each other for the largest weight and the best looking onion.

"There is also a category for those under the age of 16," said Rob Radcliffe. The top prize for the young grower is $25. The first prize in both competitions for the adults is $75. There will be over 50 entries in the adult category.

The current record for the heaviest onion is 16 pounds. Will someone is Innisfil break record? Drop by Lakeview, located at 1712 Killarney Beach Road to find out.
