Memorial golf tournie for trucker this weekend

Just a last minute reminder that the David Virgoe Memorial Golf Tournament will be held this Saturday, September 29, at th Harbourview Golf Club in Innisfil.

The tournament is a fundraiser for Virgoe's family, who was left behind after his life was taken on June 18, while driving his transport on Hwy. 400 near the Bradford exit.

Virgoe, 48, was deemed a hero, by heading into the ditch, a move that ultimately took his own life, to avoid further collisions with other vehicles, after his truck was sideswiped by three street racers.

Golfers in the Memorial Tournament can expect lunch, a cart, and 18-holes of golf, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, for only $100.
