Essa delays work on Baxter sidewalks and storm sewers

Essa council has deferred a project for new sidewalks and storm sewers in the hamlet of Baxter after receiving one bid for the project.

Council agreed to the deferral last week when the township received one bid on the project with a bid price of $232,000.

The township had predicted a price of $169,000 for the project.

Council agreed with township CAO Greg Murphy that the township would probably get more bidders and a better price if it re-tendered in the spring of 2008.
