One person has died, while several others were injured during several collisions on area roads this weekend.

The OPP Highway Safety Division Barrie Detachment is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 400 southbound, north of Hwy. 88 in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

On Monday at 3:40 p.m., the driver of a GMC Jimmy was travelling southbound on Hwy. 400 and allegedly making numerous unsafe lane changes. She lost control of the vehicle, it rolled several times across all three lanes and went over the steel guardrail into a ditch.

The 42-year-old driver, a woman from Innisfil, was transported to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie with minor injuries. The 37-yearold passenger, an Innisfil man, was airlifted to Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto with life threatening injuries. Another serious crash took place in Angus earlier in the weekend. On Sunday, at 12:05 p.m., two vehicles and a motorcycle collided at the Mill and King streets intersection.

A southbound Plymouth Neonturned left across the path of a northbound Hyundai. A northbound Harley Davidson then struck the Hyundai. The passenger of the motorcycle was thrown, and landed on the roadway.

Of the six injured, five were treated and released from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and the sixth, 40-year-old Audra Armstrong of Georgetown, died of her injuries on Friday, Oct. 5th at Sunnybrook.

Someone also entered the accident scene and stole the victim's purse from the roadway.
