Stroud firefighters were putting the boots to the Children's Aid Society, and that's a good thing.
The firefighters recently raised $800 for the Children's Aid Foundation, during a local boot drive. Residents were asked to place donations into the boots of local firefighters, as they stood in several public places across the region. The foundation helps provide services to nearly 12,000 children across Simcoe County, including several in Innisfil. Those services include funding for summer camp, bursaries, tutoring and welcome kits upon entering care.
"It was absolutely fantastic. We are thrilled, $800 goes a long way to helping our kids," said foundation manager Pam Coulter.
"These funds will assist the children who need help. Whether it be through summer camp, bursaries, tutoring, welcome kits when they come into care. It will help provide basics."
