School board staff release capital plan public meeting dates

Public school board staff are seeking community input for their long-term capital plan.

The Simcoe County District School Board is hosting public information sessions to hear input and explain the development process for its capital strategic plan. This long-term plan will outline the board's student accommodation strategy which may include new schools, additions, school closures and consolidations.

The meetings are being held throughout the county. Locally, Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie will host a meeting Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., while Bradford District High School will host a session Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.

Banting Memorial High School in Alliston will also host a session Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

Presentations from the meetings will be posted on the board's website during the week of Nov. 12. Individuals may also forward any comments, questions and concerns relating specific schools by e-mail to dfew@scdsb.on.ca.
