Vehicle rollover sends two people to hospital

Last week., members of the Nottawasaga OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on County Road 56 at the 25th Side Road of Essa Twp.

Police learned that a vehicle, a Dodge truck was being driven west on the 25th Side Road and stopped at the intersection of County Road 56 for a stop sign.

The driver of the dodge then proceeded west into the intersection failing to yield to another vehicle, a Dodge Durango being driven south on County Road 56, resulting in a collision.

The impact sent both vehicles rolling out of control. Neither of the drivers, nor their passengers, were ejected as the were all wearing their seat belts.

Essa Fire Department attended and assisted with the injured and road closure.

The roads remained closed for about 45 minutes.

The passenger in the Dodge Durango, a 57-year old female and the passenger in the Dodge truck, a 56-year old female were transported by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Charged with failing to yield from a stop sign, is 62-year old Cyril Provencher of New Tecumseth.
