Bradford thefts under investigation

Police are investigating thefts from two motor vehicles in the Bradford area.

The thefts occurred sometime overnight between Oct. 15 and 16. One vehicle was entered on Northgate Drive, and it does not appear that anything was taken. The second vehicle was entered on Wyman Crescent. The vehicle parked on Wyman had two Micasa Compactors taken, worth a total value of about $8,000.

Vehicles entered in Stroud

Several thefts are being investigated in Innisfil.

Police say the incidents occurred sometime overnight between Oct. 15 and 16. Vehicles parked on Nelson Crescent, and Chantler, Gordon and Yonge streets in Stroud were broken into. Most of the vehicles were unlocked. A variety of property was taken, including loose change, cigarettes, a Motorola cell phone, black iPod, and CDs.

Intoxicated man charged

Police responded to a medical aid call for an unconscious man, who was sitting in a vehicle on Booth Street Bradford Oct. 17.

Upon arrival, emergency service personnel found the man conscious and in a considerable state of intoxication. The male was arrested for impaired care and control and transported to a police station for a breathalyzer test.

The male provided a breath sample but during the testing he became non compliant and failed to provide any further adequate breath samples. Police also learned that the vehicle had been involved in a fail to remain accident shortly before being located. The 42-year-old Toronto man was also charged with refuse breathalyzer, and fail to remain at the scene of an accident.

More Bradford vehicles entered

Police are investigating several thefts from vehicles which occurred overnight between Oct. 16 and 17 in Bradford.

A vehicle parked in a driveway on Brownlee Drive was forcefully entered, and the suspects removed a quantity of cash and credit cards from a purse left in the vehicle. Police are investigating another theft from a vehicle that occurred on Northgate Drive.

A pick up truck was forcefully entered and Sanyo, Kodak Easypic and Samsung digital cameras, and a large quantity of cash was taken. Two other vehicles parked on Wyman Crescent were entered but nothing appears to have been taken.

Stolen vehicle found

Police located a reportedly stolen black Toyota parked on Locust Hill Drive in Innisfil Oct. 8. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the Owen Sound Police Service the day before. Surveillance on the vehicle lead to the arrest of a 36-year-old Innisfil man. He was charged with possession of stolen property.The man was released from custody with a Nov. 15 court date.

Impaired driver caught

On Oct. 21 at approximately 12:55 p.m., police received a complaint from a citizen of a Honda Civic being operated erratically while travelling east on Innisfil Beach Road.

An officer located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was found to be impaired and was arrested. He was transported to a police station, where he provided two breath samples that were over the legal limit. A 40-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired driving and having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.

He will appear in court in November.

Teen arrested after assault

A 15-year-old Innisfil man was arrested and charged with assault after an altercation on a town street Oct. 19. Police received a report from a man who claimed he was approached by the suspect while walking down the street.

The suspect, who was known to the victim, then allegedly punched him in the face. The assault was apparently unprovoked. The next day, police located the suspect in an Innisfil plaza and arrested him. He will appear in youth court in Barrie.

Warrant executed early Sunday morning

On Oct. 21 at about 5:40 a.m., police attended an Innisfil plaza to investigate a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to a 42-year-old Innisfil woman, and learned that she was the subject of outstanding warrant for assault police from 2003. She was arrested and held for bail hearing Oct. 22.

Court order broken

A woman contacted police Oct. 18, after her husband allegedly tried to get into contact.

By doing so, the man was in violation of a court order. Officers investigated and learned that the suspect, a 55-year-old Innisfil man, was out on an undertaking and that he is prohibited from contacting his wife. They also discovered that he had attempted to contact her through their adult daughter. The suspect turned himself into police on Oct. 21, and was taken into custody.
