Questions about the Headless Horseman and answers regarding a Lefroy church

What is there about the legend of Ichabod Crane that intrigues people so? Perhaps it is the image of the tall, lanky, rather homely school teacher trying to bravely face the Headless Horseman that fascinates us so. Every year at Halloween, this Washington Irving tale is either read or shown on television to put a little

spooky fun' into our lives. Our little ghosts and goblins will be out on Wednesday evening, so let's be watchful of them as they run from house to house. Happy Halloween everyone!

Roast Beef Dinner at the Gilford United Church on Wednesday November 7, with sittings at 5 and 6 p.m. Adults are $13 and children under 12 are $5. For tickets call 456-2006.

Lefroy United Church News and Coming Events: There's another new website and this time it's for the Lefroy United Church at http://www.lefroyunited.ca/ check it out. Three upcoming events are below:

Christmas Bazaar: Saturday December 1. You'll be able to complete your Christmas shopping and then enjoy a home-made lunch of soup and sandwich. Don't forget to go into the sanctuary for a little trip back into Innisfil's history as you see local antique quilts on display. This year we have added a display of hand crafted or novelty tea towels. For crafters, there are still a few tables to rent to sell your wares. Call Diana at 456- 0255, or the church at 456- 2098.
