Hawker eyeing figure skating gold
By Susan Stein

Lesley Hawker Doherty, last year's bronze medal winner, will represent Canada at the International Figure Skating Championships, held in Quebec City on Nov. 2 and 3 (please check your TV guide for the corret time and channel).

Her parents James and Linda Hawker are going to Quebec and her proud grandfather Don Barratt of Cookstown will watch from home.

Rooting for their sister are Dale, 23, a graduate of Wilfred Laurier University, who is now pursuing studies for chartered accounting, and Derek and Matthew, currently students at Georgian College. Bethany and Kevin currently attend Eastview Secondary School, Tim is working in Barrie and Rebecca, Rachel and Kayla are still in public school.

After competing in Quebec City, Lesley will represent Canada in Japan end of Nov. and in January will take part in the Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver. Good Luck Lesley!
