The Wee Digger Winterhawks Atom AE Team dug in deep and won five in a row.

After bringing home the silver medal Thanksgiving weekend, the team has been unbeatable.

They started their winning ways against Richmond Hill on Oct. 10, coming on strong to take the game 5-2. Goals scored by Nathan Parker, Cole Vardy, Luke Hiebert, Kyle Sickinger, and Josh Columbus. Assists recorded by Kyle Sickinger and Luke Hiebert. Taylor Apsey was solid in net, coming up with some very key saves.

On Oct. 13, the team shut out TNT by a score of 4-0. Cole Vardy started off the scoring, followed by Walker Curtis, Kyle Sickinger, and Brendon Monague.

Assists by Travis Davies, Matthew McGrath, Walker Curtus (two), and Brendon M. (two).

Harrison Dietrich and the defensive line did an amazing job defending our end.

The team played 3 games from Oct. 19 to 21.

It started off In Newmarket on Friday night. The boys hammered the Redman in all three periods, giving up only one goal with minutes to go in the game. The final score was Hawks 4, Newmarket 1. Jesse

Tuckey led in scoring with two goals, followed by Josh Columbus and Kyle Sickinger with one each. Travis Davies, Nathan Parker and Kyle Sickinger each got an assist.

Saturday the Wee Digger team played at home, hosting our close neighbours from Barrie. Goalie Harrison Dietrich recorded his third shutout of the season as the Hawks took down the Colts by a score of 3-0.

The line of Kyle Sickinger, Travis Davies, and Jesse Tuckey delivered all three goals with one a piece, and also recorded the assists with one each for Tucky and Davies and two for Sickinger.

Sunday saw the team travel to Markham to play the Waxers.

The team worked hard while edging a very aggressive Markham team by a score of 5-2.

Luke Hiebert scored a well deserved hat trick with both Cole Vardy and Kyle Sickinger adding singles. Assists where given to Jett Karraman, Walker Curtis, and Jacob McLeay. Our defenseman Josh Columbus, Matthew McGrath, Cooper Moores, Karraman and McLeay did a great job protecting goalie Taylor Apsey from getting rammed by the Waxers forwards. Great job in net Taylor.
