A thrill of a lifetime, and a scary moment. An encounter with a buck and his doe at this time of year could be tricky. My mother and I did not move, were calm and enjoyed the moment which seemed to last forever. This buck came with doe in tow to within 20 feet of us. We had a staring competition. He realized we were not a threat and moved on.
