Bike taken from disabled boy, erratic driving and public intoxication reported Disabled boy's bike stolen Nottawasaga OPP are investigating the theft of a disabled boy's new bicycle Oct. 31. OPP say the specialized bike, a three wheeled 10- speed, was taken from the driveway of an Alliston residence. The boy was supposed to receive the bike later in the day. A witness reported seeing the bike being used near Albert Street between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The bike is blue, with silver handlebars and a white seat. NORCO is written on the side. Licence suspension handed out Police received information from a resident who was concerned someone may have been impaired while driving in Bradford West Gwillimbury Saturday. Officers arrived on scene a short time later, located the vehicle and issued the driver, a 55-year-old Bradford woman, with a 12 hour licence. Erratic driver arrested A 39-year-old Shelburne man was charged with drive while disqualified and obstruct police after his vehicle was allegedly being driven erratically on County Road 27 in Innisfil last week. The driver of the vehicle verbally identified himself to the investigating officer, who did not believe the man. Through further investigation, it was determined that the driver had 12 disqualifications from driving and two that had yet to be entered. The man is also wanted in Alberta and Nova Scotia for similar offences. The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. Several caught intoxicated Early Saturday morning, police were called to the scene of a disturbance involving several intoxicated patrons leaving a licensed business located at Holland Street East and Simcoe Street in Bradford. Police observed a man who was trying to agitate other patrons. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The man was released to friends and placed in a taxi. While at this location, police received information of another intoxicated man who broke a window at a nearby licensed premise, and that the man had assaulted a citizen when leaving the area. Police located and arrested the intoxicated man after he was identified by witnesses. After being searched, a small quantity of marijuana was found in his possession. The Keswick man, 25, is being held in custody until sober before he can possibly be released. He has been charged with mischief under $5,000, assault, and possession of a controlled substance. Teen found loaded with booze and marijuana In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, police were called to an Alcona residence regarding an unknown disturbance. While on scene, police were met by a group of intoxicated individuals, one of which was on conditions from a previous charge to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The 15-year-old Innisfil man was arrested for breaching his conditions. He was also allegedly in possession of a quantity of marihuana. He was held for a bail hearing in Barrie later that morning. Man caught driving under suspension Last week, police investigated a suspicious vehicle on Scanlon Avenue in Bradford West Gwillimbury. An officer approached a vehicle and spoke to the driver who had just parked it in the driveway of a residence. He failed to produce his licence and the officer discovered he was a suspended driver. The man was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, and searched. During the search, the officer allegedly located a quantity of suspected marijuana. The 32-year-old Essa Township man was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court in December. Van stolen from Bradford business Police are investigating the theft of a white 2001 Chevrolet van from a business on Industrial Road in Bradford. The van was stolen sometime overnight Oct. 28, and was loaded with a large quantity of books, videos and DVD's. Construction tools taken Police are investigating the theft of construction tools from a residence on Thompson Street in Innisfil sometime overnight Oct. 28. The suspects allegedly stole a number of items, including a portable generator, skill saw, extension cords, a concrete nailer and a nail gun. More tools stolen from Innisfil site A large quantity of construction tools were taken from a job site on Ceresino Crescent in Innisfil. Police say the tools were stolen from a trailer that was parked at the site sometime last weekend. The suspects took a portable generator, as well as number of power tools, wrenches, hammers, and several other hand tools. Intoxicated man walks into traffic On Nov. 1, police received a report a man was carrying a bottle of liquor and walking in and out of traffic on Holland Street East in Bradford. The 44- year-old Gravenhurst man was located by police, and found to be extremely intoxicated. He was arrested. After being searched, police found a small quantity of marijuana in the man's clothing. The man was taken into custody until sober. Police charged the man with possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued a provincial offences notice for being intoxicated in a public place. Cottage break-in investigated A cottage was allegedly broken into on Jane Street in Innisfil. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred sometime between Oct. 21 and 31. Suspect gained entry by opening an unlocked window. A quantity of property was taken including a gray and white BMX bicycle, a set of TaylorMade golf clubs, a Luxman stereo amplifier, a guitar, and a laptop computer. The investigation is ongoing. Couple arrested after alleged sexual assault Police investigated a disturbance at a residence in Innisfil, where a man advised he was assaulted by his girlfriend. The woman had already left the residence by the time police arrived on scene. A few hours later, police attended the woman's residence, and were told she was defending herself from being sexually assaulted by the man. After further investigation, police charged the 47-year-old Innisfil woman with assault. The 45- year-old Innisfil male was charged with assault and sexual assault. |
