Lefroy preparing for Victorian tea and Christmas

Remembrance Day Service will be held at Branch 547 on Robinson Street in Belle Ewart, at 11 a.m. Nov. 11.

It will take place at the legion's new cenotaph. Everyone is welcome to come to the service. Don't forget to buy a poppy as this is the legion's only fundraiser throughout a very busy year.

Roast beef dinner at the Gilford United Church on Wednesday November 7, with sittings at 5 and 6 p.m. Homemade pies will be available.

Adults are $13 and children under 12 are $5. For tickets call 456-2006.

Lefroy United Church News and Coming Events: There's another new website and this time it's for the Lefroy United Church at http://www.lefroyunited.ca. Check it out. three upcoming events are below:

Due to overwhelming demand, all the apple pies and cookie tins are already sold out.

We thank everyone for their orders. If you missed out on these two items don't despair there will be a bake sale at the craft sale on Saturday December 1. Once again though, you know what the early bird gets. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Victorian Tea: Saturday November 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Grange Hall in Lefroy. Another annual timehonoured tradition at the church. Enjoy scones and fanciful desserts and get treated like the royalty you really are. All this for only $5.

Christmas Bazaar: Saturday December 1. You'll be able to complete your Christmas shopping and then enjoy a homemade lunch of soup and sandwich. Don't forget to go into the sanctuary for a little trip back into Innisfil's history as you see local antique quilts on display. This year we have added a display of hand crafted or novelty tea towels. For crafters, there are still few tables to rent to sell your wares. Call Diana at 456- 0255 or the church at 456- 2098.

Covenanting Service: We are very excited to welcome the Rev. Todd McDonald to the church. In our tradition, a new minister is welcomed to the community through a special covenanting service. Ours will be held on Sunday November 18, beginning with a potluck lunch at 12:30 p.m.

The service begins at 2 p.m., with newly ordained Rev. Ruth McDonald from Bradford United Church as guest speaker.

Dessert will be served after the service.

As a special note, please be advised that there will be no regular 10 a.m. service that day.

Innisfil Pipes and Drums practice takes place at the Belle Ewart Legion Branch 547 every Monday at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome. Contact Ken at 705-456-3717 for information. Visit their website at www.innisfilpipesanddrums. ca.
