Coffee causes stir at council chambers A good cup of joe is no reason to stop. A town committee has passed a plan to place a no stopping restriction on both sides of Commerce Park Drive, from Innisfil Beach Road to a point 50 metres west of Forest Valley Drive, to keep the road clear from vehicles and other obstructions. "(This will) assist in ensuring that site lines are kept clear of obstructions," said engineering technologist Gavin Watson in a report to the committee. "Council could opt to not approve the restriction, however this could have negative effect on the traffic control in the area." Councillors worry that a Tim Hortons and gasoline station, which will be built in the area, may cause transport trucks to stop along the roadway. "What's going to happen is you're going to have transport trucks parked on the side of the road," said mayor Brian Jackson. "It's all about safety. Hopefully, we can force them." |
