Water bill request denied by Essa council

Essa council has turned down a request from a township resident faced with a massive water bill after his child left his sprinkler system on for a full weekend.

The resident, whose water bill is normally between $120 and $150 per three month billing period, came home in august to see that his son had left on the outdoor faucet which resulted in his water sprinkler system exploding and releasing a continual flow of water on his property for four days.

Council turned down the request which would asked for a reduction of the resident's $622.75 water bill.
