Victorian Christmas taking museum patrons back on a historical sleigh ride

On Sunday December 9, the Simcoe County Museum welcomes everyone to Victorian Christmas. From 1 to 4:30 p.m. the museum will be filled with Christmas music, crafts, food and activities.

Every December, the museum hosts an open house afternoon to thank the community for another year of support, and to celebrate the season in true Victorian style. Listen to a performance by the Joybells Bell Ringer choir and sing along with Christmas carols in the church. Discover the melodious sounds of the hammered dulcimer, played by Jim Harris. Enjoy hot cider and candy canes. Wander along the museum's village street to browse the newly renovated store fronts. Visit the craft and baking tables, and pick up some great hand made gift items. This event is guaranteed to get you and your family into the holiday spirit.

There is no admission fee for this event. Donations to the food bank will be accepted. The museum is located at 1151 Highway 26 West, minutes north of Barrie. For more information, please call the Simcoe County Museum at 728-3721.
