Essa hopes for high speed project success

Essa township is willing to sign onto the project which is seeking to improve high speed internet services in South Simcoe.

Township council gave their support to the project which is being conducted by the South Simcoe Economic Alliance.

"I hear more requests about the lack of high speed internet service in my area than anything else," said Baxter area councillor Ron Henderson.

The South Simcoe Economic Alliance, which Essa does not belong to anymore, has been asking member municipalities to support the study.

It is expected that the study will not cost member municipalities any money as it will be funded by the federal government. Council asked staff to investigate if Essa can join the project.
