New Essa high school left in public board's hands
By Richard Blanchard

Essa council will be leaving its proposal for a new high school in the township in the hands of the public school board for the foreseeable future.

Township mayor Dave Guergis recently said that he felt that township residents had done an excellent job in presenting the need for a new high school at a public meeting on the board's future capital projects on Oct.29 in Alliston.

"We saw four members of council in attendance along with representatives from our Economic Development Committee and the Parks and Recreation committee." said Guergis.

"Local residents had a lot to say about the need for a new high school in Angus and I was glad that we have received a letter in support of the new facility from the Base Borden commander Colonel Moore," he said.

"I think that the ball is in the school board's court," he said.
