Careless driving, uttering threats and teens arrested Man can't dodge the law Police received information that a male from North Bay was in the Alcona area and there were two outstanding warrants for his arrest Nov. 25. Officers attended the area to look for the vehicle he was supposed to be in. About 30 minutes later, an officer spotted the vehicle at the Mike's Mart in Alcona. The man gave a false name to the arresting officer. The 37-year-old North Bay man was arrested on both warrants and charged with obstruct police. He was held a court appearance the next day. York Region gets their man South Simcoe Police were contacted by York Regional officers, advising they would need their assistance arresting a Bradford man who threatened a woman with a weapon in their area. Police later attended to a Bradford address, contacted the accused and convinced him to come to the door to be arrested. After a small delay, the 44-year-old Bradford man gave himself up to police and was taken into custody. Police charged the man with threatening and criminal harassment. No weapon was located. He was taken to York Region for processing. Man charged with domestic assault On Nov. 24, police were called to a Bradford residence in response to a domestic assault call. A 24-year-old Bradford man was apprenhended by police with the use of police dog Ronin, after he had fled the residence. The man is charged with four counts of assault and was held for a bail hearing on Nov. 25. Woman caught driving carelessly A 23-year-old woman has been charged with careless driving, following a motor vehicle collision at the Innisfil Beach Road and Yonge Street intersection Nov. 23. Police say the woman was travelling westbound on Innisfil Beach and approached the intersection of Yonge Street. Traffic was stopped for a red signal and the woman was unable to stop in time. She rear-ended a stopped vehicle. Nobody was injured in the crash. Alleged drunk driver fails to show for court On Nov. 23, a 28-yearold Tottenham man surrendered himself to police after he failed to appear in Bradford court two days earlier. The man was to appear on charges of impaired driving and driving over 80 milligrams. An additional charge of failure to appear was added, and the man was held in custody for a bail hearing in Barrie. Break and enter suspect wanted Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the person responsible for a residential break and enter which occurred between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 23. Police report that a home on Happy Vale Drive in Alcona was entered. Several items were stolen from inside the residence including jewelry, cash and alcohol. Man charged with impaired driving Police have charged a 39- year-old Newmarket man with impaired driving and driving while over 80 milligrams, after he was observed by an off-duty police officer driving in a dangerous manner northbound on Highway 400 in Innisfil. The off-duty officer called 911 and reported the incident which triggered police to start searching the area. The suspect was located on Boman Street and was pulled over by police. The man was arrested and take to the north division staion for an intoxilyzer test, which revealed his blood alcohol concentration was almost double the legal limit. The man's drivers licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and he will be appearing in Bradford Court on Dec. 13. Man allegedly pushes wife Police responded to a 911 call from a residence on Lakeside Drive in Innisfil early Saturday morning. When they arrived, they discovered that a woman had been pushed by her husbandduring a heated argument. Police have charged a 44- year-old Innisfil man with assault. He will be appearing in Bradford court December 13. Youth charged with assault On Nov, 22, police responded to an unknown trouble call at a Bradford residence. Upon arrival, officers located a female outside of the house and discovered she had been arguing with her boyfriend who was still inside. An investigation revealed that the woman had assaulted the man during the argument. Police arrested and charged a 17-year-old Bradford woman with assault. She was released from custody into the care of her father and will appear in youth court in December. Drunk man struggles to avoid arrest On Nov. 22, police investigated an intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance on Queen Street in Cookstown. An officer arrested the man and a struggled ensued. The man was brought under control and transported to the station, where he assaulted officers in the cell area. A 20-year-old Innisfil man was charged with assault police, obstructing police, and causing a disturbance by being drunk. He was released from custody in the morning when sober. Teen allegedly utters threats Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old Innisfil man with uttering threats, after a complaint was received that a teacher had been threatened at an Innisfil school Nov. 8. The teen was released from custody into the care of his father and will appear in youth court in December. Robbery and breach of conditions. Police Service received a 911 call regarding a robbery at an Alcona plaza Nov. 20. The robbery consisted of a purse and wallet being taken from a teenage girl in the parking lot. Investigating officers obtained descriptions of the involved suspects, leading to the arrest of two 17-year-old Innisfil women and an arrest warrant being obtained for an 18-year-old Innisfil man. One of the women will also be charged with two counts of breaching her conditions that she was previously released on. The accused will be held for a bail hearing Nov. 21. |
