Alleged impaired driver charged after crash

Police responded to a head-on collision on Sunday, which occurred on the 5th Sideroad between Line 4 and 5.

A southbound vehicle - operated by a 56-year-old Lisle woman - was allegedly being driven erratically and crossed the center line striking a northbound vehicle.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage and the occupants of the northbound vehicle suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

They were transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment. They were later released.

The woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving by drug.

The roadway was closed for several hours while the incident was investigated.
