Christmas Cheer coming to town
By Chris Simon

Christmas Cheer is coming to Innisfil.

The Barrie and District Christmas Cheer program will have four registration sites set up at locations across Innisfil over the next two weeks. The Innisfil Public Library's Lakeshore branch will host registration Dec. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Stroud recreation centre will host on Dec. 12 from 1 to 7 p.m., and the Churchill Community Centre will host on Dec. 13 from 1 to 8 p.m. The Innisfil Community Church will also host a session on Dec. 14 from 1 to 7 p.m.

Applicants must apply in person, and bring proof of identification, permanent residence, income and benefits, expenses and age of dependent children.

Applicants who apply to receive Christmas assistance from other agencies will not qualify for aid.

Christmas Cheer will be providing over 1,200 area families with full course dinners, while over 1,200 children will receive presents, and 700 11 to 16- year-old kids will be given $65 gift certificates this holiday season.
