Hospital volunteers meet

The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its November meeting in the conference room recently.

President Beryl Burroughs welcomed all and a special welcome to new member Shirley Collins.

The meeting was opened with the Auxiliary prayer.

Minutes were distributed before the meeting were approved.

Corresponding secretary Muriel Riddell had sent out many thank you cars regarding the bazaar. At this time we would like to wish Irene Armstrong a speedy recovery.

Treasurer Linda Doucette gave the treasurers' report.

Turns out, our bank has increased greatly with the proceeds from the gift shop, Coffee Corner and Autumn Leaves giving their donations.

The Hospital Auxiliary of Ontario held their annual meeting on Nov. 4, 5 and 6.

President Beryl Burroughs and vice president Eleanor Storozuk attended all three days, while five of their members attended for one day of the conference.

Margaret Enever had taken Megan Freeborn and Marika Kay down for the student volunteer session at the OHAO.

She has written a letter of thanks for this.

Pat Hool, our bazaar convenor, reported on the bazaar held on Oct. 20 as well as the mini-bazaar.

She thanked all for their help in so many ways and this year's final total was $9,372.60.

She also reported on our sale of Nevada tickets and presented the auxiliary with a cheque for $2,000. A written report was sent in by Annette Beausaert on the Coffee Corner and it continues to do well.

The gift shop also does well and Colleen Beattie has many lovely Christmas gifts for sale.

The next meeting will be the annual Christmas dinner on Thursday December 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Members were asked to sign up for the four different times.
