Man arrested for allegedly assaulting wife

On Dec. 2, South Simcoe Police were called to a Bradford residence where a woman alleged that her 57- year-old husband had assaulted her the previous evening.

Police spoke to the family members who had witnessed the incident and the man was arrested for assault and forcible confinement and held for a bail hearing at a Barrie court.

Man allegedly threatens woman

Police arrested a 20-yearold Innisfil man Dec. 2, after a woman alleged that he made a threatening statement to her.

The man was further charged as a result of his communication with the woman, as he was under a judicial order to have no communication with her at all. The man was held for a bail hearing in Barrie court.

Party leads to arrest

Police were called to a residence in Alcona for the report of a large party that had spilled out onto the street last weekend.

Witnesses reported that the house party had gotten out of hand and that one of the partygoers had brandished a knife and had been assaulted. As a result of the investigation, a 26- year-old Innisfil man was arrested and charged with weapons dangerous. He was released on a promise to appear with a court date in January.

Time fails to heal old wound

Police have arrested and charged a 47-year-old Bradford man with assault after his wife reported to police that he had assaulted her last December. The man was held for a bail hearing in Barrie.

Bradford woman breaches conditions

On Nov. 29, police stopped a vehicle on Bridge Street in Bradford to investigate the occupants for drug offenses.

A search of one of the occupants revealed a small quantity of crack cocaine. Further investigation revealed that this suspect was in violation of several court orders that she not possess any non-prescribed drugs. A 36-year-old woman from Bradford was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, breach of undertaking and breach of recognizance. She was held for a bail hearing on Nov. 30.

RIDE program bags another person

On Nov. 29, police were conducting a RIDE program stop on St. John's Road in Innisfil. At this time, officers stopped a vehicle and discovered that the driver, a man, was impaired. He was arrested and transported to the station were he provided breath samples that were less than the legal limit.

However, further investigation revealed the man was under the influence of a controlled drug. He was charged with impaired operation by drug and will appear in court in January answer to the charge.

Fast RIDE ends in arrest

Police were conducting a RIDE program stop on County Road 27 in Innisfil Nov. 29, when a vehicle approached and then accelerated through the spot check.

The officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it safely several kilometres later. The woman driver was found to be impaired and was arrested. She was transported to the station where two breath tests were obtained that were in excess of the legal limit. A 43-yearold woman from King Township has been charged with impaired operation, over 80 milligrams, dangerous driving, and flight from peace officer.

She will appear in court in January to answer to the charge.

Tool takers arrested

Police received a call from a security company advising that they witnessed a vehicle leave the 400 Flea Market Nov. 26.

It appeared the occupants may have had stolen property in the vehicle. Officers attended to the area and observed that the vehicle in question was pulled over at the side of the road.

Officers observed tools inside the vehicle. After speaking to both parties it was

determined that the property was stolen from the 400 Flea Market.

Officers arrested a 21- year-old man and a young person, both from Barrie. Both parties were transported back to the police station where they were processed and released with a court date in January. The tools had a value under $5,000.

Stolen vehicle recovered

A citizen reported an abandoned vehicle located to police.

The vehicle was sitting on Hudson Crescent in Bradford for the past week. The vehicle was found to have been stolen from Toronto about weeks ago. Anyone with information regarding this occurrence is asked to call police at 905- 775-3311, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-
