RIDE stops nab several in first few evening blitzes The South Simcoe Police have been conducting their annual RIDE program over the past few evenings in Innisfil and Bradford West Gwillimbury, despite poor weather and driving conditions. During that time, they stopped 1,430 vehicles, caught two impaired, one impaired by drug and one excess alcohol over 80 milligrams drivers. They conducted seven roadside tests, and charged one driver under a 12 hour suspension, one under suspension and another for being unlicenced. One Liquor Licence Act, two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and 11 Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid. Police will continue to monitor and check for impaired drivers throughout the month of December and early January. |
