Economic alliance turns down Essa Township's broadband internet request
By Richard Blanchard

Essa Township's request to participate in a broadband internet study sponsored by the South Simcoe Economic Alliance has been turned down.

Township councillors were told last week that the Alliance was going to restrict the study to its member municipalities.

Essa once belonged to the alliance, but decided to drop out of the group

The SSEA is undertaking a $30,000 study to review the lack of broadband internet availability in the South Simcoe area.

The study will be used as a basis to receive government funding to improve these services.
