Gilda's Club hosting gala Sun Life Financial, located in Barrie, has donated $10,000 as the sponsor of the third annual Red Door Gala for Gilda's Club. The fundraising event is set to take place at the Gryphon Theatre at Georgian College on Saturday February 16. It will feature Beverly Thomson, co-host of CTV's Canada AM, as guest master of ceremonies, and Lunch at Allen's, a group consisting of Murray McLauchlan, Cindy Church, Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas, will headline. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7. Tickets are $75 and are available through the Gilda's Club office by calling 726-5199. Gilda's Club is non-residential and free of charge. Children, teens, men and women living with cancer, along with their family and friends, can join others to build social and emotional support to complement their medical care. Efforts are now underway to open a Gilda's Club in Barrie, which will serve a wide area including Simcoe County, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Grey Bruce and Dufferin County. |
