Nottawasaga chosen for pilot project Nottawasaga Futures is proud to have been selected to take part in a national pilot project designed to help small and medium-sized businesses prosper through the use of effective human resource (HR) practices. Nottawasaga Futures is taking part in this national pilot project, which aims to increase the effectiveness of HR management practices within small and mediumsized businesses in order to increase productivity and competitiveness. According to the spokesperson for Nottawasaga Futures, Valerie Ryan, participation in this national HR pilot project will provide the organization with leading-edge tools for assisting to develop HR practices with its small and medium-sized business clients. Over the next two and a half years, the pilot project will result in the development and testing of a practical and easy-to-use HR tool kit designed for use by small and medium-sized business clients.. The tools will provide small and medium-sized business owners with practical know-how towards addressing human resource priorities, and will also show them how investing in the skills development of their employees can improve the business's bottom line. Nottawasaga Futures is a member of the Pan-Canadian Community Futures Group, which includes 268 nonprofit member organizations across Canada. This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada's Workplace Skills Initiative (WSI). A major objective of the WSI is to fund projects which respond to a range of skills-related challenges in Canadian workplaces, in order to improve our productivity and position ourselves to effectively compete in the global knowledge-based economy. |
