High water bulletin issued
By Chris Simon

A high water safety bulletin has been issued for the area.

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority issued the warning last week, due to forecasted temperatures of up to 8 C. Combined with rain this past weekend, there is possibility of flooding in various areas across the region.

Rainfall and meltling snow will result in higher water levels in rivers and streams, creating dangerous conditions along banks. While no flooding is expected, waterflows near culverts and bridges could be dangerous.

"All watercourses in our area will experience higher than normal water levels," said flood duty officer Stephen Troan. "The forecasted rainfall and associated snowmelt will result ... in dangerous flow conditions."

Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses, according to the conservation authority.
