Santa visits, levy plans, veteran dinner held and other Legion news
By Ed Collins

Santa's visit: Santa visited the branch Saturday to the delight of many of our children. Clarabella the clown entertained the children with songs, games, face painting, and balloons. When Santa arrived he brought with him his famous bag of gifts.

He presented a beautiful gift to each child present. This was followed by hot dogs, pop and cookies for the parents and their children. Everyone had a great time.

Veterans dinner: We were thrilled to have been able to host our third annual dinner, in honour of our veterans Dec 7th. We served over 60 veterans and their spouses roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner, with all the trimmings.

I am sure they all enjoyed themselves. Following the dinner we entertained them with music and songs of days gone bye.

Bob, Margery and Sandy did a great job, with their singing. We presented all of our guests with a souvenir mug, as a keepsake from Branch 547, in appreciation for what they did for us. God bless them all. We thought we would have problems with the weather, but the turnout was fantastic. I trust everyone arrived home safe and sound.

New Years levy: We will be hosting our annual New Years levy on Jan. 1, starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome, come out and join your friends, neighbours and comrades for this great event. We will have all of the traditional goodies, Moose milk, a light lunch, music and good cheer, etc. We hope to see lots of people out to wish them the best in the New Year.

The Early Bird campaign is over but I would urge all of our members to pay their annual dues, which should be done by the end of the year.
