Pirates invade Nantyr Shores

      Hailey Hunter is only in Grade 9, but she's already been transformed into a pirate. The Nantyr Shores Secondary School student earned one of the lead roles in the upcoming production of Pirates of Penzance, which will run from today through Saturday in the school's cafeteria.

Lions aid guide dog program

      Into the Lions garage. The Thornton Lions Club held its first giant garage sale at the Lions Hall Saturday. Over 10 vendors displayed hundreds of items such as books, chairs, plates, computer parts, and toys. "We just tried this out to see how well it would go; we don't know if we're going to have another one," said club publicity chair Bob Abrahams.

Stevenson Memorial hosting Getting Ready for Baby classes
      The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) have partnered to offer a prenatal class series called Getting Ready for Baby. This series consists of three two-hour sessions before baby arrives and one two-hour session after birth.
