BDHS committee strikes an orange punch The BDHS150 committee, in partnership with One Red Chair, was happy to be part of last weekend's Carrot Fest. "Carrot Fest had a super turn out," committee cochair Vickie Stam said. "It was great to see the BDHS faculty part of the booth and see the community first hand. "It was neat to interact with people and talk about the school reunion and see their reaction to the official drink of Carrot Fest." After a short deliberation amongst the committee, the official drink was unanimously chosen. Not only did every committee member like the name instantly, but we knew it would be a success, considering two separate entries came up with the same name. Kym Handfield and Daniella Severino were on the right track when they submitted the name Chilly Gwilly. People were steady at the booth until the BDHS150 committee declared Chilly Gwilly sold out. After over 200 drinks, the committee was ecstatic at the warm reception of the beverage. "Every week something great happens with this team," BDHS150 committee co-chair, Nikki Glista says. "We've recently had a deputation to Bradford council, we are talking with the Bradford Lions and we continue to be excited about the support from this town. We are anticipating an exceptional reunion next year." The BDHS150 committee will continue to accept recipes though e-mail or at BDHS. They are planning to publish a carrot recipe book later this year. Anyone interested is encouraged to submit a copy of their recipes for any type of carrot dish (carrot cake, side dishes, and more) to bhds150@hotmail.com. The BDHS reunion is scheduled for May 1 to 3. To register for the database, visit their website at www.bdhs150.com and fill out a form. For more information, call BDHS at 775-2262. |
