Essa council pats itself on the back

With the end of 2007 and the completion of the first of a four year municipal term, Essa council looked back on the past year with some pride at their final meeting of the year recently.

"I think that we've made great progress while keeping spending under control this year," said township mayor Dave Guergis. "We owe a big thanks to staff for their work."

Councillor Sandie Macdonald agreed with the critical role of staff in the township's progress.

"I want to thank them for their diligence."

Township CAO Greg Murphy thanked council for its praise of the township employees.

"We do strive to work with council to make this municipality a better place."
